Join us for the third edition of the .eu Day, held on 4 December 2024 at the Members Salon in the European Parliament!
We cordially invite you to a day full of insightful discussions, from breakfast to lunch, on ensuring an open and secure internet for all Europeans. You will have the opportunity to engage with Members of the European Parliament on digital policy questions and share your perspective in an open debate.
Please note that entrance to the building of the European parliament requires a valid access pass.
The .eu Day is organised by EURid in close cooperation with EuroDIG and the European Internet Forum:
.eu Day Speakers
Ms. Marina Kaljurand has been an MEP since 2019, following her time as a member of the Estonian Parliament and her role as Estonia's Foreign Minister and Ambassador. She is the Chair of the Steering Committee of the European Internet Forum.
Mr. Pearse O’Donohue is the Director for Future Networks at the European Commission, dealing with policy development, research funding and innovation as regards 5G networks, 6G research, IoT, cloud and edge computing, open source software and new and innovative approaches towards service platforms and next generation Internet.
Mr. Kristjan Burgess is a Senior Programme Specialist at UNESCO’s Communication and Information Sector in Paris. He leads outreach and advocacy on freedom of expression and safety of journalists. Previously he has been a diplomat, journalist, high level consultant, and a university lecturer.
Ms. Sophie Timmermann is deputy head of the fact-checking team at CORRECTIV, a German non-profit independent newsroom. She is a multimedia journalist with strong research and fact-checking skills.
Mr. Hans Seeuws is EURid's Business Operations Manager. He has been active in the TLD industry since 2008, working with both ccTLD and gTLD operators. He has a background in business operations, public institutions and communications.
Mr. Giacomo Mazzone is a board member at EuroDIG and a member of the EDMO task force for the integrity of the EU’24 elections.
Ms. Lara Levet is a public policy manager in Meta's EU Affairs team since 2021, before which she was an EU competition lawyer.
Mr. Paulo Glowacki serves as a member of EURid's Youth Committee and is pursuing a Master's degree in International Law. He is actively involved in various Internet Governance and digital policy initiatives at both national and international levels.
